POSITION WE WISH YOU OCCUPY
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead quantity surveying functions across our projects, including Cost Management and Procurement Processes.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience as a
Site Director (Diretor de Obra) who also possess strong quantity surveying and budgeting competencies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who combines financial control expertise with practical on-site construction knowledge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Management: Accurately estimate quantities, materials, and costs for each project element.
- Procurement Leadership: Source and negotiate prices with suppliers across Portugal, Spain, and other relevant markets to secure the most competitive costs for materials and finishes.
- Supplier Relationships: Maintain and expand a strong and reliable network of suppliers and manufacturers.
- Tender & Contract Management: Prepare tender documentation, analyse supplier proposals, and support contract negotiations.
- Project Financial Oversight: Support the Site Director in managing project budgets, cost forecasting, contingencies, and financial risk mitigation.
- Documentation & Reporting: Produce detailed cost reports, Maps of Quantities (MoQ), and financial analyses.
- (For candidates with Site Director experience) Provide technical and operational input on-site to ensure alignment between budgeting, execution, and project delivery.
WORK CULTURE AND ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
- You will collaborate closely with Senior Site Managers, Site Teams, Architects, and Clients to ensure financial clarity and project alignment.
- The role reports directly to the senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within renovation and/or construction projects.
- Preferred Profile: Experience as a Site Director (Diretor de Obra) with strong budgeting and cost-control capabilities will be highly valued.
- Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively via phone, email, and in person.
- Supplier Market Expertise: Established network within Portuguese and Spanish supplier markets, with proven procurement experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cost management tools and software.
- Team Player: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
